Chant Engineering,
located near Doylestown PA, is seeking an Operations Manager . We design, manufacture and service custom testing machines along with hydraulic test stands for industrial and military customers worldwide.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for
scheduling all production work while meeting the established budget and timeline . The Operations Manager will
oversee the purchasing department and machinery shipped domestically and internationally . The Operations Manager
must b
e a positive can-do person
that is self-motivated, creative and thrives in a changing environment.
This is an
in-office position , and the candidate must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Operations Manager
Responsibilitie s:
Manage and direct shop personne l including the electrical, welding and hydraulic assembly areas.
Communicate production/project statuses to upper management.
Conduct weekly production meetings.
Work closely with engineering and calibration/service departments
to ensure job completion.
Analyze job orders and estimate time
, machine and material requirements for completion of job assignment s.
Interpret specifications,
blueprints, and drawings
; prioritize and assign projects
based on skill, expertise and current workload.
Analyze and
resolve production issues .
Establish and adjust work assignments to meet production schedules and budgets .
Manage all employees, training, and performance objectives.
Manage the maintenance of our building, machines, equipment and vehicles to ensure they are safe operating order.
Manage Purchasing and Shipping Departments .
Organize shipments of completed machines and equipment both domestically and internationally.
Determine which work requests should be directed to external suppliers.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all safety protocols.
Perform other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require.
Operations Manager
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in business or engineering.
Minimum 10 years in production supervision/management.
Comprehensive knowledge of metal fabrication, machining methods, and assembly techniques.
Hydraulics experience is a plus.
Supervisory skills with the ability to delegate.
Work independently and part of a team, a self-starter, and proactive.
Ability to manage multiple tasks/assignments concurrently.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and work from blueprints and drawings.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and
Microsoft Project .
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
