Hyundai's North America Quality Center (NAQC) is looking for a Senior Manager for the CH (Chassis) and TR (Trim) Department of the Investigation Team I Group
The Team:
NAQC is the quality arm for Hyundai Motor Group (HMG)'s North American vehicle models. NAQC seeks to further Hyundai's goal of becoming the leading automotive manufacturer in North America by delivering uncompromising quality and exceeding consumer expectations.
The Position:
The Sr. CH/TR Manager would oversee the development and enhancement of chassis and trim systems for Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia vehicles by supporting the Chassis and Trim Teams with resolving chassis and trim-related issues
What You Will Do:
Understand, follow,and continually communicate with one's direct reports the department's business model, strategic direction, purpose, and mission
Set department-related goals and objectives that align with NAQC's direction. Then, drive execution, engagement, and results to accomplish them.
Manage the department's plan, strategy, and budget allocation/usage
Develop the department's resources and capabilities
Mentor and support direct reports
Collect, analyze, triage, and prioritize quality initiatives for NAQC and its businesspartners
Foster inner-team collaboration and knowledge sharing through transparent communication
Prepare and present reports of department-related findings/insights for upper management to review
Establish and adhere to validation test processes & documentation
Monitor external databases related to safety and product feedback, investigating and reporting when needed
Provide pre- and post-launch technical support and participate in various product evaluation programs with NA sales affiliates and assembly plants
Support dealers and vendors with chassis and trim-related issues
Oversee supplier audits to ensure NA meets HMG's quality standards
Remain current with market trends and new technologies
Coordinate various quality improvement activities to reduce costs and enhance overall HMG brand quality
Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders (i.e., HMG R&D, suppliers, other quality departments, etc.) to resolve complex, quality-related issues
Travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally
What You Will Bring to the Role: Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline 15+ years of experience working with chassis and trim systems 5+ years of experience managing engineers QA/QC/QI experience Knowledge of chassis fundamentals (i.e., NVH, brake systems, fuel systems, HVAC systems, steering systems, and suspension systems) Knowledge of interior and exterior trim/seat/and body-related fundamentals (i.e., NVH, lamp, switch, seat, latch, motor, and door) Familiarity with vehicle instrumentation and data acquisition tools (e.g., LMS, thermal loggers, Vector CANalyzer, CAN tools, various gauges, etc.), service manuals, shop equipment, and chassis and trim-related test equipment Root cause analysis skills Experience conducting field and on-site investigations Familiarity with performing testing, validation, research, and benchmarking activities/tasks concerning chassis and trim systems Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Excellenttime management, self-management, and organization skills Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record
