Job Description

SGS is currently looking for Non-Destructive Examination Inspector for a contract position. The NDE Inspector will be responsible for conducting non-destructive testing and inspections on various components (brazed joints) and systems to ensure they meet quality and safety standards. This contract position is

for 2/3 days a week for the next 6 months .

Responsibilities:

Examine components ultrasonically to determine the area of the joint surfaces after induction brazing and detect internal discontinuities.

Use acceptance criteria as defined by AWS C3.5

Conduct visual and ultrasonic inspection. Inspection should be performed after post braze cleaning.

Visual inspection is required after SC ring machining and before painting

The ultrasonic examination shall be performed in accordance with AWS C3.8M/C3.8. Acceptance criteria is in accordance to AWS C3.5 §6.5.1 and §6.5.2.1.

Qualifications: Qualifications

UT Technician - SNT-TC-1A or NAS 410 Level 1 certification.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-destructive testing and inspection.

Industry experience in Oil and Gas and utility sectors.

Ultrasonic Level 2 certification.

Experience in inspecting brazed joints.

Strong understanding of NDT techniques and industry standards.

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Hourly rate – $50 -55/hour

Schedule – 2/3 days per week for ~6 months

The inspector will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement (1099) with SGS North America Inc.
