JOB DEVELOPER

General Statement of Function:

The Job Developer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing employment opportunities that align with the skills, interests, and goals of adults and students with disabilities. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, community partners, and service providers to create inclusive and sustainable job placements. Additionally, the Job Developer collaborates with case managers, job coaches, and stakeholders to assess vocational readiness, prepare resumes, conduct mock interviews, and provide job search assistance. They ensure that placements meet program standards and funding requirements, and they monitor job retention and satisfaction through ongoing follow-up and support. The position requires strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workforce.

Essential Functions: Ensure all job placement activities comply with CARF standards and maintain required documentation for Oparc, CARF, funding agencies, and community employers. Match job seekers to appropriate job opportunities by analyzing their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and support needs in relation to job demands. Proactively identify and cultivate employment opportunities for job seekers by researching local labor market trends and leveraging tools such as industry directories, Chamber of Commerce networks, professional associations, online job platforms, social media, and direct employer outreach through networking. Conduct intake meetings and develop formal written placement plans for Regional Center (RC) and Department of Rehabilitation (DR) participants. Develop individualized, professional-quality resumes tailored to each individual's employment goals, highlighting relevant skills, experience, and strengths to enhance their competitiveness in the job market. Provide individualized job coaching and on-site support to clients during the initial phase of employment to ensure a smooth transition into the workplace. Monitor performance, address any immediate challenges, and collaborate with employers to promote job retention and long-term success. Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain consistent weekly communication and engagement with each job seeker on the caseload by conducting structured job development sessions. Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with legal, policy, and administrative requirements. Work independently to adapt coaching strategies and materials to meet individual needs and interests; deliver social and vocational skills training to support employment success. Schedule and facilitate IDT meetings with participants, their ID teams, including DOR and RC counselors as needed. Attend required meetings and trainings as assigned. Adhere to the proper care and responsible use of Oparc issued property, tools, and equipment. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently. Must be able to perform physical activities including walking, standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, and repetitive motion as needed throughout the workday. May be required to handle and use cleaning or maintenance chemicals in accordance with manufacturer's labeled instructions. Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; minimum of two years of direct experience in sales, marketing, or a related field is required. Experience in vocational rehabilitation or workforce development is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders including clients, employers, and community partners. Proficient in computer operations, including email, word processing, and data entry; ability to learn and use job development software and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, goal-oriented environment. Must possess a valid California driver's license, have at least five years of driving experience, a clean driving record, reliable and safe transportation, and current vehicle insurance. Use of a personal vehicle is required for business purposes. Must obtain ACRE certification within 6 months of hire to remain qualified for this role.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am through 4:30pm, includes a ½ unpaid lunch. Schedule is flexible and may require early morning, evening, and weekend availability depending on caseload needs.
