Job Summary:

We are seeking an Entry-Level Ski Lift Electrical Technician to join our lift maintenance team. This position is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of electrical systems who is ready to learn and grow in a hands-on mountain operations environment. You'll assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical components that power and control aerial and surface lift systems.

Job Specifications:

Starting Wage: $21.00/hr - $30.05/hr

Employment Type: Year Round

Shift Type: Full Time hours available

Early mornings, weekends, holidays, nights and overtime shifts may be required

Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Housing Availability: No

Working Conditions:

Physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and kneeling

Outdoor alpine environment with exposure to extreme weather

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with routine inspection and maintenance of lift electrical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and control panels

Support troubleshooting of basic electrical and electronic issues under the supervision of experienced technicians

Learn to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer service manuals

Help maintain lift safety systems, communication lines, and warning systems

Ensure proper documentation of all maintenance and repair activities

Work closely with lift operations and maintenance teams to support daily lift readiness

Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory standards

Participate in training to gain knowledge of ANSI B77.1 standards, OSHA regulations, local regulations and Vail Resorts safety standards, policies and procedures

Assist with off-season maintenance projects, testing, and system upgrades

Job Requirements:

Basic understanding of electrical theory, components, and safety practices

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with both mechanical and electrical systems

Comfortable working outdoors in alpine weather and at heights

Able to lift and carry 50 pounds

Able to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members

Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driver's license

Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred

The expected pay range is $21.00/hr - $30.05/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
