Responsibilities The
Senior Liability Adjuster
is responsible for conducting office investigations and adjusting commercial general liability claims that are largely litigated and exposures up to and over policy limits. The Adjuster is also responsible for, but not limited to:
Handling large and catastrophic losses
Analyzing construction and other contracts
Analyzing policies of insurance
Addressing risk transfer strategies and priority of coverage
Proactive approach towards negotiating claims towards resolution
Investigating losses and identifying coverage issues
Analyzing coverage and identifying covered and uncovered claims
Assigning panel counsel to defend our insured(s)
Working with counsel to develop litigation plan to resolve underlying claim
Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and medical records
Establishing indemnity and expense reserves
Processing payments
Taking statements from insured’s, claimants, and witnesses
Qualifications
At least 10 years of prior experience adjusting CGL and BOP liability claims
Bachelor's degree, Attorney license a plus
Able to understand coverage
Ability to analyze policies of insurance and relevant contracts to address priority of coverage and explore risk transfer strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and computer skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize
Able to occasionally travel to hearings, mediations, trials, and conferences
