Authorized Inspector (Trainee) Location:

Huntsville, AL Shift:

Monday-Friday, standard daytime hours; occasional evenings/weekends; extended hours during annual outages (4-12 weeks). Compensation:

$72,500 base + overtime; paid 4-5 month training program with pay increase upon completion. Benefits:

Key Responsibilities Complete 12-14 weeks of ASME/National Board training and certification, including 120 hours of on-the-job training with an experienced Inspector.

Conduct inspections of new construction, repairs, alterations, and jurisdictional assessments of boilers and pressure vessels per ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Sections III) and National Board Code, as well as related client codes and standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma with equivalent military experience or Bachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. 3-5 years' experience in boiler and/or high-pressure steam and water system maintenance/operation. Minimum 4 years' mechanical experience with boilers and pressure vessels in nuclear or conventional power plants. Preferred: Navy MM/BT, SRO, Steam PPWO/EOOW, or Navy Nuke EM/ET with at least 3 years qualified SRO experience. Experience with quality assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems. Familiarity with inspections of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC systems. NBIC Boiler Inspector qualification and insurance inspection experience (risk-based) a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Office, web-based applications, and Lotus Notes. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; must pass background check.
