Position Overview:
This Senior Systems Architect supports the DMV Transformation initiative. This long-term modernization program involves multi-phase legacy system migration, including data transformation, validation, and architectural redesign. The selected candidate will play a key role in developing and supporting ETL processes using IBM Infosphere DataStage and must have strong SQL, data migration, and system design expertise.
This is a full-time, on-site position requiring close collaboration with senior-level ITS subject matter experts and compliance with mandatory state security and training protocols.
Responsibilities:
Perform architectural analysis and document functional specifications in compliance with ITS standards
Lead data migration efforts from 10+ legacy DMV sources into modern data repositories
Develop ETL solutions using IBM Infosphere DataStage
Participate in requirements gathering, design sessions, and validation processes
Perform extensive SQL-based data testing, reconciliation, and verification
Document business workflows using tools such as Microsoft Visio
Assist in QA activities, including test planning and execution
Ensure compliance with New York State data policies and security standards
Prepare and deliver written knowledge transfer plans
Collaborate with technical teams and communicate clearly with senior ITS stakeholders
Qualifications:
5 years of experience with legacy data migration involving 10 or more data sources
5 years of hands-on SQL development experience
5 years of data testing experience, including validation, test planning, execution, and reconciliation
5 years of experience using Visio or similar tools to document workflow processes and perform data modeling
5 years of ETL/data migration experience using IBM Infosphere DataStage
