Maintenance Worker - Full time with benefits
Campbell County is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our team. The shift is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. This position offers full benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance along with Virginia State's Retirement Plan (VRS). Campbell County has a generous Vacation and Leave Plan including Holidays, Personal Days, Floating Holidays and Community Service Leave to use.
Position will be open till filled.
Makes a daily difference in the Campbell County organization and locality through: hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement and accountability.
Performs with excellence, the following tasks, including but not limited to:
Performs or assists with routine maintenance of buildings and grounds such as: Painting, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, window/building washing, replacing locks, repairing and/or replacing sidewalks, patching and repairing roofs, basic carpentry etc.;
Moves equipment, supplies, and furniture as requested;
Cuts grass, weed eats, prunes bushes, and rakes leaves, as required;
Shovels and pushes snow and applies chemicals to walkways as necessary;
Replaces light bulbs as necessary;
Performs other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
One year of related experience
Valid Virginia Driver’s License and insurable under County’s Policy.
Requires completion of Incident Management System IS-700 and IS-100 within 90 days of employment.
Core Skill Sets:
Knowledge of basic safety as it relates to buildings and grounds maintenance;
Ability to safely operate power equipment such as: string trimmer, chain saw, push mower;
Basic working knowledge of hand and power tools;
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time;
Basic understanding and ability to utilize the county’s adopted software platform.
General Service Areas/Conditions: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors where uncomfortable conditions exist. Work involves a high degree of physical strain. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
