OVERVIEW

:

The

Facilities/6S Technician 1 (Baghouses)

is responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility's buildings, grounds, and related systems, with a focus on baghouse operations. This role plays a vital part in supporting a safe, efficient, and well-organized workplace through regular maintenance, adherence to 6S standards (Sort, Set-in-order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety), and active participation in facility improvement activities.

Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical and basic electrical skills, a proactive approach to safety and organization, and the ability to adapt and work both independently and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a thorough understanding of and adherence to facility safety and environmental policies and procedures. Assist others in interpreting these policies when needed. Uphold high standards of quality and workmanship in all tasks. Maintain outlying areas around the facility, including disposing of unwanted items throughout the grounds. Complete 6S audits and address safety-related items. Inspect and rebuild lifting chains throughout the facility. Provide support to machine shop and foundry operations. Assist in addressing safety audit items throughout the plant. Assist Tech 2 in repairing, modifying, constructing, fabricating, installing, and maintaining building structures and equipment (e.g., roofs, walls, floors, HVAC, compressors) using various hand and power tools. Assist Tech 2 in replacing or updating inoperable or old building materials and appliances, ensuring a safe, comfortable work environment. Paint facility structures and equipment to preserve materials and maintain facility standards. Reconfigure and install modular offices, furniture, lighting, and storage to maximize space and meet user needs. Serve as the primary contact for all personnel regarding building and grounds issues. Primary Baghouse Duties

Possess basic knowledge of pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical principles. Provide basic hand tools. Clean baghouse areas, sand silos, and reclamation systems; empty dust bags/hoppers as needed. Conduct weekly baghouse inspections, record gauge readings, and report findings. Perform weekly and monthly baghouse preventive maintenance. Test baghouse pneumatic pulsers and pulser boards. Inspect drive belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, rotary air locks/seals, pneumatic tubing, air lines, gearbox lube levels, and perform required maintenance. Empty condensate totes for air compressors using a forklift. Check oil levels, inspect and test auto drains, and replace oil separator nano bag filters as necessary; report findings and recommended repairs for compressed air systems. Clean air compressors and compressor rooms. Operate mobile sweeper and maintain daily dust log. QUALIFICATIONS:

Fabrication and carpentry as assigned by Tech 2 or Lead. Experience in building electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems. Knowledge of fire protection and plant security systems. Forklift and mobile equipment operation. Strong organizational and planning skills. Proactive, adaptable, goal-oriented, and assertive; able to work effectively in a team and across departments. General building maintenance and basic construction methods. Demonstrated desire and ability to learn and grow. Flexible and able to adapt to changing schedules and priorities. Works well under pressure. Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to understand and reconcile differing viewpoints. Able to work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks efficiently and on time. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
