FIELD TECHNICIAN - DIVISION 28

Required Knowledge and Experience: The ideal candidate must have experience as an electronic security/systems integration technician with knowledge in programming and installing various types of access control systems, CCTV systems (including IP-based systems), alarm systems, card access and electrified hardware knowledge including exit (panic) devices, strikes, maglocks, locksets and door closers. Automatic Operators a plus.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience with: • DSX, RS2, Lenel, Brivo, and various other access control systems • Panasonic, Samsung CCTV IP systems • DMP, Ademco alarm systems • Relay logic & Low voltage circuit • Customer Interfacing/Provide training and guidance to users on how to operate the systems • Automatic Operators a plus • Computer skills to easily use the Internet e-mail, orders and forms • Staying updated on the latest development sin access control technology • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations

Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required • Hold a valid driver's license • Current and continued certification in at least one VMS system • Current and continued certification in at least one structured cabling system • At least one year's experience as an Installer (or equivalent position) • Successfully pass a background check and drug screen

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Basic knowledge of networking principles, IP camera technology, controller hardware, door hardware and credential technologies • Ability to terminate and test category cable and fiber optic cable • Basic knowledge of low voltage principles (ohm's law, load calculations, metering, etc.) • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, line diagrams and specifications • Ability to communicate adequately with customer representatives in the field • Ability and willingness to serve as a mentor for Installers and/or junior Field Technicians

Physical Demands This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
