Description
JOB SUMMARY
Maintains and services buildings and grounds, to include mechanical equipment, machinery, and components. Performs minor to semi complex repair services of mechanical, electrical, and building systems and equipment. Conducts periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair. Assists with the identification of parts needed for replacement and places orders as necessary. Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Technicians in this classification should be monitored and supervised closely.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Performs building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance repairs as necessary. Implements preventative maintenance measures. Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies Completes inspections of offices and clinical areas under the direction of the team lead and/or supervisor. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and facilities, to include scheduled maintenance repairs and calibrations. Assists in maintaining the overall working condition and appearance of building and grounds of facility while maintaining a safe environment Removes/repairs/replaces electric beds, chairs, recliners, hid-a-beds, etc. Conducts processes and procedures for receiving of material and goods in a manner that ensure accurate and efficient recording and delivery of facility items. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties. Understands and complies with all system policies and procedures, including infection control, safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration procedures and regulations. Familiarity with and responds to emergencies and drills as assigned in the Emergency Disaster Plan. Responsible for knowing the Facility Fire and Disaster Plan Keeps tools, equipment, and paint storeroom clean, organized, and safe. Meets all in-service requirements. General installation of pictures, office equipment and minor carpenter repairs Performs other maintenance duties as requested.
Requirements
Minimum Level of Education : Education level equivalent to completion high school
or
completion of post-secondary certification, trade, etc.
Formal Training:
General Maintenance training is preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Must have a current Georgia State Driver's License
Work Experience:
An apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. 1 - 3 plus years of experience for entry into this position. Experienced in operating a variety of hand tool equipment for usage in facility repairs.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Calculator, personal computer, telephone, facsimile machine, paper shredder, copier, printer, hammer, ladder, screwdrivers, heating & cooling & refrigeration equipment, plumbing, carpentry power tools, etc.
