Maintenance Mechanic Location:
South Holland, IL
Pay Rate : $21-$30/hr Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K Seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance team in South Holland. In this critical role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment, facilities, and utility systems—including HVAC, boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors, blenders, and both processing and packaging machinery. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure continuous operation of plant machinery by leveraging strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on production equipment
Respond quickly and safely to breakdowns, minimizing downtime
Machine and fabricate parts as needed for repairs
Communicate equipment status and maintenance procedures to production personnel
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Attend training sessions to stay current with industry standards and certifications
Support team efforts by assisting with additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant maintenance experience
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including:
Hydraulics & pneumatics
Welding
AC drives, VFDs, and PLCs
Proficient in both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
Valid driver’s license
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
Effective communication skills across all levels of staff
Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and USDA regulatory environments
