Redwood Canyon Golf Course is celebrated as one of the Bay Area's most enjoyable golf destinations. Located in Castro Valley, the 18-hole golf facility is nestled away among the rolling hills of the east bay and is home to some of the most beautiful golf scenery in Northern California. Completely surrounded by breathtaking natural wildlife including the San Leandro creek which comes into play on nearly every hole, the course offers some of the most unique golf around, and it is truly enjoyable for golfers of all levels.
Position Summary:
The General Manager will have operational responsibility for all aspects of the club including oversight of the golf, accounting, sales & marketing, and golf course maintenance. The General Manager will be tasked with operating the facility in compliance with Touchstone Golf's expectations, policies, and procedures. In addition, the General Manager will develop and implement fiscal, operational, and business development plans and strategies, as well as administer operational standards and quality performance guidelines for all operating functions and Redwood Canyon staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversight of all activities at Redwood Canyon on a day-to-day basis. Hiring, training, and ongoing support of the entire staff consisting of the golf course superintendent, golf shop staff, cart attendants, and any other key staff. Lead weekly department head meetings. Oversee the hiring and training of all frontline staff members to ensure a superior level of guest service throughout the facility. With assistance and support from the team, create and implement systems to ensure consistent execution of a first-class experience on a day-to-day basis. Provide appropriate leadership, direction, supervision, and guidance to staff in accord with Touchstone Golf expectations and company culture to promote positive employee morale and performance quality. Direct, coordinate and monitor the development of the facility's annual business plan and operating/capital budgets. Monitor and evaluate financial performance relative to budget goals and objectives. Analyze budget variances, develop and implement action plans to achieve appropriate Responsible for 'back of the house' operational duties including accounting, staff scheduling, and payroll management, as well as other administrative duties as required. Qualifications:
The candidate will have at least two years of experience in a management role of similar or greater capacity within a commensurate golf courses. Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to interact well with staff and guests. Strong work ethic. Demonstrated experience in the areas of budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, sales and staff management. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends. Must be an innovative thinker with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing service and business environment. Possesses strong leadership skills including recruiting, developing, and retaining quality department heads and Ability to identify core competencies in co-workers. Skills required include a proficient level of Microsoft Office - Word and Excel, point of sale systems and experience with Lightspeed or similar club-based software. Highly developed interpersonal communications Demonstrated quality written and verbal skills. Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations. Experience with other daily fee facilities in Northern California a plus. Supervises:

Salary and Benefits:
$75,000-$85,000 plus bonus based on experience. Participation in company sponsored medical, dental, vision, 401K, and vacation programs. Cell phone and professional organization dues reimbursed. Meal provided while on duty.
