This is a part-time position located at the
Vinton Welcome Center in Vinton, LA.
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Welcome Center in Vinton.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism's vision is to market and promote the brand of Feed Your Soul showcasing Louisiana as a travel destination, increasing revenue generated by the tourism industry and contributing to the economic impact of tourism in all 64 parishes.
The Office of Tourism partners with tourism professionals and industry stakeholders in private and public sectors to extend and enhance their efforts to reach domestic and international consumers and travel trade.
Minimum Qualifications No experience or training required.

Job Duties: Performs any and all custodial duties necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions, to make the Welcome Center as presentable as possible to visitors. Performs tasks necessary to the upkeep of Welcome Center buildings, both inside and outside, including the sidewalk adjacent to the building and other building elements as directed. Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing with tools and devices designed for these purposes. Includes outdoor areas such as sidewalks adjacent to the center. Empties and disinfects/decontaminates trash containers. Properly disposes of infectious waste in accordance with current rules and regulations when assigned. Mitigates minor safety hazards, reports all safety hazards to the supervisor. Transfers, unloads, and moves brochure boxes as necessary. Opens boxes. Assists travel counselors with transfer to racks as required. Observes and reports to the supervisor any needs for maintenance and repairs to the physical facility and its systems, including but not limited to: mechanical systems, plumbing, HVAC, paint, and other equipment. Must be able to safely lift 30 pounds. Must be able to safely climb and use a ladder. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including weekends and holidays, evening; and be accessible/available during an emergency. Position-Specific Details:

This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.** Work Schedule:
The Vinton Welcome Center is open from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Sunday-Monday.
