About the team:
ZF Marine is seeking persons that are skilled in working with their hands, have mechanical aptitude, and are passionate about the marine industry.
What to look forward to as a Field Service Technician:
Perform OE modifications, service repairs, unit overhauls, inspections, troubleshooting, and testing under supervision. Collaborate with ZF Marine staff to address customer demands, resolve service and delivery issues, and communicate updates. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including tools, equipment, and precision instruments. Ensure safe operation and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment, reporting any required upkeep. Manage shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory control of tools, parts, and equipment. Conduct warranty investigations, prepare reports, and assist with service order completion and technician documentation. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally for onboard repairs, including dock testing and sea trials. Support continuous improvement, team building, facility maintenance, and perform other duties as assigned. Your profile as a Field Service Technician:
Previous mechanical repair experience in automotive, truck, engine, construction, or off-highway equipment. Valid driver's license and ability to meet security requirements (Port access, Passport, TWIC). Punctual, cooperative, team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude and ability to follow directions. Basic marine product knowledge and industry experience. Basic electrical/electronic skills with ability to use electrical test equipment. Proficient in using hand and power tools. Fluent English with clear verbal and written communication skills. Computer literate with experience in Outlook, Word, Excel, and other software; high school diploma with 2+ years related experience; able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
