SENIOR CLERK OPS -

This is specialized clerical work which requires independent decision making responsibility.

EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED:

Organizes and maintains records, filing systems and inventories. Prepares statements and inventory reports. Establishes, reviews and updates procedures. Reviews data for accuracy and completeness. Interviews and screen applicants for employment. Ensures that documents are properly notarized. Verifies eligibility requirements. Researches records and traces documents. Performs billing in accordance with established procedures. Communicates administrative and clerical policies and procedures. Assigns and prioritize work assignments as required. Trains other employees as required. Performs incidental typing as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of correct grammar usage. Knowledge of basic arithmetic. Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to develop and implement office procedures. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of secretarial or clerical work experience College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience. Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience. A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
