Cost Estimator for Commercial Contracting Corporation in Auburn Hills, MI.

Duties include: Assist construction management in collecting and analyzing data to estimate time, money, materials, and labor required to complete construction projects; read blueprints and technical documents and perform document control of construction documents, submittals, requests for information and other documents needed to prepare estimates; coordinate contract plans and design requirements to calculate, analyze and adjust estimates; assist with project buyout and project startup activities, job cost tracking and project closeout; process submittals and maintain log throughout the project life cycle; assist with budgets, bulletins, change requests and field orders, and maintain and prepare project progress layouts for construction activities to estimate future costs; evaluate cost of design choices, provide problem solving solutions, and recommend ways to reduce costs; and track project schedule and milestones, maintain cost records, and obtain permits.

Req's: Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field of study or equivalent foreign degree. 2 years of experience as a Cost Estimator, Project Engineer or Project Manager. Must have worked on at least 3 projects with construction budgets of $300 million, in one or more of the following construction market sectors: higher education, automotive, healthcare, industrial and manufacturing, energy, commercial, water and wastewater and/or self-perform (concrete, steel, interiors, rigging). Must be willing to relocate. Must have 2 years of work experience with each of the following: utilizing Procore software to manage and develop project budgeting and to prepare estimates, generate and update schedules and develop project scope; preparing cost estimates for change orders for client submission; managing construction costs and developing project budgets, including forecasting and preparation of quantitative take-offs and GMP estimates, through analysis of subcontractor quotes and development of general condition and requirement costs; SAGE 300, Oracle, or SAP or equivalent end-to-end accounting software to review key project cost metrics.
