Description:
As a Maintenance Technician for Publix, you’ll utilize state-of-the-art instruments and industry best standards to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of a wide array of equipment. Our plants produce award winning products, and without our Maintenance Technicians keeping the manufacturing equipment fine-tuned, the plants simply couldn't produce the volume and quality of products needed to serve our customers.
One of the following positions is available: Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C.
The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate.
Responsibilities include:
maintain printing production equipment through preventive, predictive or corrective maintenance
trouble shoot and repair equipment including Programmable Logic Controllers
create and make changes to preventive maintenance work orders using SAP management system
communicate positively with all associates, showing a willingness to accept new ideas and input, striving to be an integral part of the production team
maintain the parts stockroom, which includes issuing parts and maintaining computer managed inventory system
maintain the plant building needs including plumbing, electrical, electronic, computer hardware, and pneumatic problems
oversee maintenance procedures employed by operators, electricians, outside technicians, and ensure that the work performed is in accordance with company standards
maintain thorough and accurate repair and maintenance history of all equipment
assure, that equipment is maintained at top efficiency, and that spare parts are available as needed
coordinates work with outside contractors
assist in the installation or moving of equipment

Year End Bonus:
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.

Required Qualifications:
at least 18 years old
basic mechanical and electrical aptitude
basic knowledge of hand tools and tool use
willingness and ability to advance
willingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test (on or before hire date)
excellent verbal and written communication skills
must have an excellent attendance and punctuality record
ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, PLC and electronic systems
knowledge of electrical theory including AC & DC circuits, 3 Phase power, and motor controls knowledge
ability to identify trends and predict component failures, using historical equipment data to solve equipment problems
must be able to replace or rebuild any component on a piece of equipment within the realm of information available
ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, layouts and drawings.
ability to read measuring tools such as, slide calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
ability to use Digital Multi Meter
knowledgeable in OSHA required regulations such as Lock/Out-Tag/Out preferred
computer literate, ability to use computer systems to maintain equipment repair and maintenance histories, etc.
must have excellent safety work habits
strong problem-solving skills
self-motivated individual
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
ability to work independently and productively
good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and to be a team player in a positive manner)
