2nd Shift Hours: 3:30pm-12:00am Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $21/hr.
We are seeking a skilled, experienced Powder Coater to join our team in the maritime manufacturing environment. As a Powder Coater, you are responsible for performing production spray operations using powder painting techniques on a variety of manufactured metal parts and components. You will prepare surfaces, applying powder coatings using specialized equipment, and ensuring each product meets the company’s quality and finish standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for powder coating through methods such as sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking, or sand blasting
Apply powder coatings to parts and products using spray equipment according to specifications and production orders
Set up and adjust powder coating equipment to ensure proper operation and consistent finish
Load and unload parts into curing ovens, monitor curing cycles, and ensure optimal results
Inspect coated items for quality, uniformity, and coverage; perform touch-ups or rework as needed
Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times
Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and quality standards
Qualifications:
One or more years of experience in powder coating within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong eye for detail, solid technical ability, and a commitment for safety and quality
Familiarity with electrostatic powder coating processes, spray equipment, and curing ovens
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or work orders
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify finish inconsistencies or defects
Capable of standing for extended periods of time
Physical dexterity, steady hand-eye coordination, and ability to use precision tools
Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and a team-oriented mindset
