Job Description Job Title: Radiologic Technologist I Profession: Radiology Tech Specialty: - Duration: 10 months Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience unspecified License: Must possess State License Certifications: Applicant must meet the requirements for National Registry and pass the examination
Must-Have: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an approved school of Radiologic Technology Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements
Description: The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level requiring limited supervision. Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and providing immobilization devices. Selects proper technical factors based on individual patient needs. Selects and operates equipment as required for specific procedures. Restricts radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to minimize exposure to unaffected parts of the patient. Performs portable x-ray examinations in various patient settings. Follows operational procedures to identify patient films with appropriate markings. Develops exposed x-ray film using available processing methods. Completes patient requisitions with necessary information. Maintains an orderly x-ray room as directed. Prepares contrast media and assists physicians in its administration. Performs administrative duties related to scheduling appointments and maintaining records. Provides assistance to all patients based on their individual needs. Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands for a minimum of 6 hours a day. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and adapts care accordingly. Communicates effectively with patients and caregivers at their level of understanding. Adheres to established organizational competencies.
