Employment Type:Full timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Mercy Fitzgerald, a member of Trinity Health, is looking for a Lead Medical Technologist to join our team!Schedule: Full-time day shift, 8-hour shifts. Every 3rd weekend required.Directs and coordinates the technical systems of an assigned section of the laboratory (Blood Bank, Hematology or Chemistry). Responsibilities include the training/orientation of all new employees as well as the yearly competencies of existing staff. Coordinates the implementation of all quality control/quality assurance programs. The ordering of department supplies and inventory levels are maintained by the lead technologists. Reports to the laboratory manager.A Medical Technologist conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. A medical Technologist uses microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient. A Medical Technologist performs standard laboratory procedures consistently providing high quality patient care.
