The Patient Account Representative is responsible for billing and collections of all HIPAA compliant claims to insurance companies for payment of all patient related charges and following up on accounts within 30 days. This position is also responsible for secondary billing, processing refunds, requesting allowances, recommending accounts for bad debt, write offs and referring accounts to self-pay for patient pay amounts. Other responsibilities include verification of benefits, filing, excel spreadsheets, interacting with patients when financial counseling is needed, and some travel may be involved for trainings. Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: One to three years of experience with psychiatric inpatient electronic billing systems, Medicare billing experience, cash posting experience, and paper insurance billing claims follow-up preferred. EEO Statement
