Rivers Veterinary Urgent Care (RVUC) was established in 2021 to help fill a perceived gap in the Pittsburgh area in veterinary medicine. With the CoVID-19 pandemic, veterinarians were faced with an overwhelming insufficiency in emergency care and preventative care facilities. RVUC provides the walk-in model of scheduling, immediate access to exceptional care and flexibility. Our team is made up of highly skilled Veterinary Assistants, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Receptionists and DVMs all ready to serve our clients and patients with excellent hospitality and high quality medicine. Consider applying today if this sounds like a team you'd like to join! We are seeking a high skilled Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our ER/Urgent Care team! We see complex cases and are looking for a credentialed vet tech that enjoys learning, gaining new skills, and teaching others. If you have an interest in ER/Urgent Care, then please consider applying today! Position Skills: Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring and other complex procedures Comfortable with triage and client communication Position Requirements: Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
