ED Paramedic
The ED Paramedic, who meets the formal education and clinical experience required by the Massachusetts Board of state licensing for Paramedics, and has successfully passed the paramedic exam, will work under the direction of the Emergency Department Director. The ED Paramedic works in collaboration with the registered nurses and other members of the Emergency Department care team providing direct patient care while working within their scope of practice. Major Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with the registered nurses and other members of the Emergency Department care team providing direct patient care while working within their scope of practice. Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities: Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed. Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements. Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. BLS Certification 2. ACLS Certification 3. PALS Certification 4. (EMT-P) Massachusetts Paramedic Certification Experience/Skills: Required: 1. A minimum of 1 year, (2 years preferred) of experience working in the field as a Paramedic with a certified EMS company. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
