Department VP-RETAIL OPERATIONS - 507571 Worker Sub Type Regular Work Shift First Shift (United States of America) Pay Grade Job Description

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist the Level I Pharmacy Technician accurately prepares and labels medications, fills automated dispensing devices, squad boxes, code trays and replaces floorstock. The Level I Pharmacy Technicians fills and exchanges patient-specific medication supplies, monitoring for returned and discontinued medications, as well as restocking storage bins and facilitating requests for re-ordering drugs and supplies. The technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment and communicating in support of Valley Health values.

Education High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience •Previous pharmacy experience preferred.

Certification & Licensures •Valid Virginia Pharmacy Technician Certification or obtain within 9 months of hire required or valid Virginia Pharmacy Intern Certification

Qualifications •Must meet complete competencies and be eligible for training for Level II Technician within 2080 hours of employment at Valley Health. •Criminal background check required.
