Insurance Collector II

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES The Insurance Collector II is responsible for performing follow-up on outstanding patient accounts, which includes reviewing payer websites and making phone calls to establish payment or denial timelines. The insurance collector will review their assigned Epic account workques and process correspondence requests from payers and third-party associates. They are responsible for reviewing accounts to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement and identifying payer issues affecting payment delays. The Insurance Collector must understand payer contracts and fee schedules. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year's experience in hospital or physician billing, administration, collections, and/or auditing is required. Knowledge of Texas Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial insurance programs is essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
