Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining plant equipment to meet operational standards. This role involves responding promptly to line calls, performing preventative and failure-based maintenance, installing machinery, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting equipment reliability to ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools Respond quickly and effectively to line calls and equipment breakdowns Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, conveyors, auger systems, cables, and packaging equipment Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform repairs including pump rebuilds and alignments Recommend equipment modifications or upgrades to improve reliability and performance Read and interpret equipment drawings and technical documents Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including modifications and repairs dhere to all safety standards and practices, including OHSA regulations
Required Qualification s High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational training or Millwright certification preferred Strong knowledge of OHSA and industrial safety standards Experience with pumps, pump alignment, conveyors, hydraulics, rigging, cutting, grinding, and welding Ability to communicate effectively and work under time constraints Physical ability to climb stairs, lift, sit or stand for long periods, work in confined spaces and at heights, bend, and kneel Willingness to work in all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications Millwright or related technical training
Certifications Relevant safety certifications preferred (not specified)
