Facilities Maintenance Technician
Position:
Part-time (Under 29 Hours) Reports To:
Facilities Manager
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our facility's safety, functionality, and appearance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting. Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of equipment and facilities. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues as needed. Ensure the building and grounds are clean, well-maintained, and safe, including basic landscaping and snow removal tasks. Assist in the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of office furniture and equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized services. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Identify and recommend improvements to building systems and processes. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in building maintenance or related field preferred. Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various conditions. Valid driver's license required. Working Conditions:
Regularly exposed to physical labor, including lifting, bending, and climbing. May require work in various weather conditions and outside of standard business hours. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
