Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the assigned territory. This role focuses on optimizing the performance of the team, understanding the sales region's customers, and industries. This role is responsible for team development and teamwork, growing the team and meeting or exceeding business objectives. Position Duties/Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities: Manage assigned sales team and their efforts within the designated region, developing the team to grow market share, and profitability. Develop a strong understanding of the region, the customers major industries and strategies to meet their needs. Engage in the region to fully understand market conditions, regional competitors, potential threats and identify strategies for responding to business conditions Build the team, with a strong team approach including all other Division Managers and creating a collaborative environment. Meet or exceed annual objectives and metrics Work with Caterpillar on regional market share growth strategy Supervisory Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with established corporate standards. Oversee day-to-day operations of the team. Reviews and evaluates the work and performance of reporting employees. Has significant input regarding hiring and disciplining employees Position Requirements

Required: High school diploma or equivalent 7 years' sales or sales management experience 5 years leadership experience Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in business or communications 7 years of Caterpillar Sales or Sales Management 7 years of MacAllister experience Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Independently determines the approach to take and the methods to use. Interprets policy in terms of objectives. Informs manager of unusual situations with far-reaching implications. Major responsibilities typically require creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates with specific objectives but often few written or unwritten procedures as guidelines. Some policies or precedents for action exist. If an error is made while in this position, it will require some effort to identify and a moderate effect on the company. Occasionally communicates with Company Executives, management, government officials. Frequently communicates with coworkers and customers. Regularly communicates with vendors, Caterpillar, Weiler, etc.
