Sawmill Operations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic Sawmill Operations Manager to lead our team in optimizing operations and achieving production excellence. In this role, you will mentor and develop supervisors and team members while managing resources and processes to meet and exceed our performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and inspire the team, demonstrating high standards in safety, collaboration, quality, and training.
Oversee daily operations of the sawmill and maintenance departments.
Utilize our performance management system to enhance team development and address key metrics such as costs and overtime.
Work closely with operations to ensure equipment reliability and availability while controlling costs.
Provide supervisors with essential tools and manpower to maintain equipment efficiency.
Design and implement systems for personnel growth, cost control, and equipment availability.
Manage departmental costs effectively to ensure optimum manufacturing unit costs.
Clearly communicate goals and expectations to the team.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.
At least 1 year of leadership experience demonstrating vision and team mentorship.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for conflict management and problem-solving.
Proficient mechanical and technical knowledge is essential.
Computer literacy with a solid background in MS Office.
Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities.
Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving results.
Experience in financial planning and budgeting is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Previous experience in a sawmill environment is a plus.
Candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
