Marketing Specialist

at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

The Marketing Specialist supports internal communications, employee engagement, and community relations across The Iowa Clinic. This role manages internal communication channels, including the intranet and internal newsletters, oversees employee recognition and rewards programs, and coordinates internal events such as the Iowa Cubs Employee Event and annual Holiday Party. It also plays a key role in community engagement by supporting TIC Gives Back initiatives, including coordinating volunteer opportunities and nonprofit events/sponsorships. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects on tight timelines while fostering a strong sense of connection among employees and the community.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Employee Communications, Engagement & Events Maintains the internal editorial calendar, ensuring internal messaging aligns with organizational goals and is timely, consistent, and on-brand. Creates and distributes clear, concise, and results-oriented internal content for a variety of communication mediums, including email, newsletters, and intranet. Manages internal web content and employee communications through our organization intranet platform. Tracks and analyzes metrics related to intranet usage, engagement program participation, and communication effectiveness to inform internal communications strategy. Works closely with the HR team to support employee communications related to culture, recruitment, onboarding, and internal branding. Oversees internal employee recognition programs and develops new ways to increase engagement and participation. Plans and executes internal engagement initiatives including ticket offerings, apparel pop-up shops, Iowa Cubs game, food truck Fridays and Clinic-wide employee holiday party. Community Outreach

Leads the TIC Ambassador volunteer program, including solicitation, communication, and preparation of volunteers for events. Supports community event planning, including volunteer/attendee recruitment and the preparation of display materials, promotional items, raffles, and handouts. Collaborates with the TIC Foundation team to coordinate check presentations, prepare board materials, coordinate volunteer opportunities and support charitable and volunteer initiatives. Lead volunteer opportunities related to our TIC Gives Back program - these could include meal packing and/or preparation, food banks, blood drives, free sports physicals, etc. This job might be for you if...

Education:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations or related field required.

Licensure/Certification:

None

Work Experience:

3-5 years of experience in developing and executing internal and external communication strategies preferred. Demonstrated computer competency required. Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred. Experience with project management software such as Asana. Canva/Photoshop and video skills a plus.
