WPHL-TV is looking for Fall semester interns!

WPHL-TV/CW is looking for an energetic and dynamic intern for the Creative Services department to assist with our new lifestyle program, “Positively Philly”, and our creative team. PHL17 will provide an opportunity to experience and learn the fundamentals of Creative Services and marketing, how it relates to other departments within a television station, and ultimately, how it defines the station’s on-air look, identity and brand. Interns will work with the “Positively Philly” team to produce our daily live lifestyle show airing 9:00am – 10:00am and work with our Creative Services team with on-air promotional spots, commercial production for local clients and community outreach projects with local non-profit organizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist with writing and producing broadcast television promotional and commercial spots

Assist with digital marketing - website and social media

Assist with gathering and researching story ideas for Positively Philly

Assist with greeting studio guests for Positively Philly

Write and produce a minimum of one promotional spot to air on PHL17

Assist in staging and managing off-site station promotional events

Learn how to write voice-over copy and submit to voice over talent

Shadow and observe how the Writer/Producers create spots and how those spots are put together

Requirements & Skills:

Can work in the US legally without any sponsorship

A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn

Some knowledge of Adobe Programs: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop

Some knowledge of DSLR and/or ENG cameras

Some knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Some knowledge of WordPress is a plus

Some knowledge of working with Social Media
