Rigger (Uptower Lead):
A field-based position that provides uptower crew leadership from project start through mechanical completion of the scope of work by working hand-in-hand with the Construction Manager and subcontractor to ensure the safe execution of high-quality work.
Core Responsibilities:
Support the Construction Manager in leading a highly efficient and productive team by responsibly executing individual and group tasks uptower. (one-Community) Motivate crew members to overcome any challenges in work environment, schedule or technical problem-solving. (full-Commitment) Provide guidance to uptower crew team members on trouble-shooting and achieving first- time excellence while implementing innovative solutions. Understand use of, and trouble-shooting techniques for, torque and tension tooling to keep crew working efficiently. (true-Craftsmanship) Serve as the example of an ideal uptower crew team member. (high-Character) Qualifications:
3+ years of experience. Knowledge of 2-3 OEM turbine platforms. Wind Turbine installation and mechanical completion experience (including generator alignment, component installation, and final presentation). Ability to lead others in following instructions. Ability to think 1-2 steps ahead of the current task. Must pass a Fit for Duty exam. Ability to operate specialized equipment, including Barnhart engineered tools and OEM provided tooling. Demonstrated ability as a Signalman/Rigger. Ability to use basic technology such as a laptop/mobile device and MS Office. Excellent verbal communication skills.
