Staffmark is hiring an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to support a manual machine shop in Montebello, CA. If you have hands-on experience with motors, controls, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment, this is your opportunity to join a team that values safety, reliability, and craftsmanship.
Pay: $30/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (1st Shift)
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical components on manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime Install and maintain facility wiring, conduit, lighting, and controls Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and equipment manuals Repair motor controls (contactors, relays, overloads) Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and safety protocols Maintain detailed maintenance logs and support general facility maintenance Respond to emergency breakdowns with urgency and precision Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred Valid electrical license/certification and 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or machine shop maintenance Skilled in troubleshooting single and three-phase systems (120V/240V/480V) Familiarity with manual machine tools and mechanical components (bearings, belts, motors) Proficient with VFDs, electrical testing tools, and mechanical hand tools Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams Knowledge of safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and Arc Flash Able to lift 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks
