The Senior Director, Institutional Giving is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for building and managing a high-impact institutional giving program at Hadassah. This role oversees the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation, corporate, and government funders to secure six- and seven-figure commitments in support of Hadassah's medical research, healthcare, and educational initiatives in Israel and the United States.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Director is an institutional partner and internal advisor who collaborates across national divisions, major gifts, finance, legal, and Hadassah's international affiliates to create fundable programs, align donor priorities with organizational goals, and enhance Hadassah's philanthropic culture and visibility.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Grow and sustain Institutional Giving, positioning it as a central revenue-generating arm of Hadassah. Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership on donor engagement, program development, and funding strategy. Foster a strong culture of philanthropy across departments and affiliates in the U.S. and Israel. Fundraising & Donor Relations

Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with foundation, corporate, and government funders. Secure high-level commitments including multi-year grants and serve as the primary relationship manager for key institutional donors. Lead efforts to draft compelling proposals, concept notes, LOIs, reports, and donor communications. Manage a FT Development Director position responsible for front-facing donor engagement; strategy & planning expertise; proposal, report, budget creation.; and supports internal CRM systems management (Salesforce), a proposal library and post-award management. Operational Excellence

Oversee systems and processes to support grant management, compliance, and reporting. Partner across internal departments (including philanthropy, finance, legal, and Israel offices) to ensure responsible stewardship and alignment with funder requirements. Track and analyze performance metrics; report regularly to leadership on portfolio growth and ROI. Qualifications

BA/BS and a minimum of seven years of professional fundraising experience, preferably in a complex organization. Proven track record of securing major foundation, corporate, and/or government grants. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong strategic, analytical, and program development capabilities. Experience working with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in working closely with volunteers. An understanding of the mission of Hadassah Knowledge of national philanthropic trends and major funders in Israel and Zionist communities.
