Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Summary:
Performs first piece, in-process inspection, final inspection, and LPAs (layered process audit) throughout the operations process to monitor quality and standard work follow up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Read and follow written instructions and prints. Verify gauges and measuring tools for accuracy. Use micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges and other measuring tools to verify part conformity to print. Conduct first piece and final inspection and record the data on the inspection sheet. Perform random in-process inspections and 100% inspection as needed. Utilize a crane to lift products weighing over 50 pounds. Support the Company's quality management program. Maintain the calibration schedule and verify tools are up to date with calibration. Print and update inspections sheets as needed, based on the dimensions from prints and revision levels. Record evaluations into the system from the Service Department. Execute LPAs, as directed by Quality Supervisor. Execute Internal Auditing to the ISO9001 Standards, as directed by Quality Supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized quality staging area and office. Attend DMM (Daily Management Meeting) in lieu of Quality Supervisor, when needed. Sets the highest ethical standards for self and others. Other duties as assigned. Education, Skills, and Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 2 years of QA experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and understand prints. Proficient with the use of measuring tools (Such as but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height stands, thread gauges) to inspect parts. Proficient in MS Office Suite of products. Familiarity with ERP system (Oracle preferred). Good verbal and written communication and listening skills. Previous forklift experience preferred. Must be detail oriented. Physical Requirement:
Visual acuity for detailed work. Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, use hands and fingers. Regularly required to lift products which weigh up to 35 pounds and move materials using a pallet jack or forklift. Work Environment:
Must be able to work within a no air conditioning shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is normal for manufacturing. Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.
