JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Performs minor construction work including wallboard, painting and plastering. Performs minor maintenance and repair, assisting Plant Engineers.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Plant engineering oversees maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors through the installation, preventative maintenance and repair of building and grounds infrastructure and equipment.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year experience in construction trades preferred. Successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of methods, techniques, and skills for minor construction, minor HVAC work and minor plumbing repairs. Ability to drive a hospital vehicle to obtain or deliver parts, tools or supplies. Ability to coordinate facility office and department moves. Knowledge of and ability to comply with federal, state, local rules and standards.
