Join G&W Electric as a Procurement Specialist II, where you will play a key role in sourcing and managing the procurement of materials critical for our custom, engineered-to-order complex products. This position involves negotiating prices, selecting vendors, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet production needs. You will leverage your expertise and judgment to implement effective inventory and purchasing strategies that emphasize cost control, delivery reliability, and quality assurance. Your Responsibilities: Source materials to guarantee on-time availability for production. Analyze engineering prints to identify specifications for procurement. Prepare quote requests, compare quotations, and negotiate contract terms. Collaborate with suppliers to minimize lead times and address material shortages. Plan and execute procurement activities using in-house ERP/MRP systems. Issue and monitor purchase orders aligned with procurement schedules. Lead negotiations for cost savings and improved supplier pricing. Work closely with Planning and Operations teams to eliminate shortages and optimize forecasts for suppliers. Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without excess. Engage with suppliers proactively to resolve issues, monitor performance, and support supply chain efficiency. Address long-term delivery, quality, and communication challenges with suppliers. Determine appropriate items for Kanban and manage stocking levels. Facilitate discussions to resolve vendor-related quality issues. Support supplier quality initiatives, including evaluations and corrective action plans. Process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and manage supplier-related part rejections. Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for timely updates on design and documentation. Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders for accurate payments. Assist in the vendor assessment process by analyzing capabilities and performance metrics. Contribute to global supply management efforts focused on risk mitigation and cost savings. Develop procurement strategies for assigned commodities. Lead complex Supply Chain projects as required. Provide expertise in purchasing best practices. Undertake additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain or a related field. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with JD Edwards (JDE) experience preferred. Background in
