We are seeking a seasoned RCSA Specialist with strong experience in developing and embedding Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) within complex business environments. This role requires the ability to lead and train cross-functional teams, collaborate effectively with Risk Assessment Units (RAUs), and contribute to a robust risk and controls culture across Risk and Collections functions. Prior experience in GSIBs (Global Systemically Important Banks) and regulatory knowledge including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and continuously enhance RCSA frameworks in alignment with enterprise risk policies. Lead and facilitate RCSA workshops with business stakeholders and RAUs to identify and document risks and controls. Serve as an internal RCSA trainer and SME for risk team members; build capabilities across the team through structured guidance and on-the-job coaching. Work closely with control owners and risk officers to validate control effectiveness, identify control gaps, and recommend mitigation strategies. Act as liaison between the business unit and central risk/governance functions to ensure adherence to compliance and control requirements. Provide risk and control input during business process changes, new initiatives, and regulatory remediation efforts. Maintain up-to-date understanding of key regulations such as FDCPA and apply regulatory expectations within RCSA activities. Support internal/external audits and regulatory reviews by providing RCSA documentation and evidence of control testing.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong expertise in RCSA development and facilitation - preferably within risk and compliance domains. Prior experience working in a GSIB or large financial institution . Proven ability to train and upskill teams in RCSA methodologies, controls design, and issue management. Solid understanding of risk and collections processes and related regulatory obligations (e.g.,
FDCPA ). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally in matrixed environments and influencing without authority. Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or related field (Master's or relevant certification preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CRMA, CRCM, or equivalent. Familiarity with risk assessment tools (e.g., Archer, MetricStream). Understanding of operational risk frameworks in highly regulated environments.
