Summary of role:
Our client is a leading concrete contractor with over 20+ years of service to the Woodland Park and throughout the Colorado Springs area. They are a specialty Concrete Contractor with repeat customers in both the Residential and Commercial project sector.
They are currently seeking a
Concrete Estimator
to join their preconstruction team. This individual will play a key role in project procurement by preparing competitive and accurate estimates for both residential and commercial concrete construction projects. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure every proposal reflects our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Retrieve, organize, and review project documents including plans, specifications, and addenda
Analyze drawings and scope to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs (concrete, rebar, formwork, voids, etc.) using estimating software
Develop unit pricing by evaluating labor, materials, equipment, indirect costs, overhead, and profit
Review and incorporate subcontractor/vendor quotes in alignment with project scope
Draft detailed bid proposals with clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions
Collaborate with clients, design professionals, and internal departments to gather relevant data for estimates
Maintain and update tracking systems such as bid logs, project documentation, and historical cost data
Participate in handoffs to Project Management and Field Operations
Support other estimators with workflow, mentorship, and quality assurance
Coordinate internal reviews and approvals prior to submission deadlines
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of experience in estimating or a related construction role
Degree in Construction Management is but not required
Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications
Strong math skills and attention to detail
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with estimating software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience interacting with clients and vendors in a professional capacity
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary: $80,000 - $100,000/year
