The Federalist Society is seeking an Associate Director, Grants & Development Communications, to lead our grant writing, donor proposals, and fundraising messaging strategy. This role is ideal for a skilled writer who can craft compelling grant applications, funding proposals, and donor materials that align with our mission and engage supporters.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Own the full grants lifecycle, including research, writing, submission, tracking, and reporting for foundation, corporate, and major donor funding requests Develop and execute a grants strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and fundraising goals Identify and evaluate new funding opportunities, assessing alignment with FedSoc's mission and programming Draft highly tailored proposals and sponsorship materials, ensuring they present a compelling case for support Coordinate with finance, leadership, and program teams to compile program impact data, budgets, and reports for donors Maintain an organized grant tracking system, managing deadlines, submission timelines, follow-ups, and renewals Cultivate relationships with foundation and corporate contacts, providing updates and strengthening donor engagement Work with finance and development teams to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy for funded projects Monitor legal, policy, and nonprofit philanthropy trends to inform development strategy Craft persuasive letters, donor briefings, and impact reports to engage donors Oversee messaging consistency across proposals, donor reports, and sponsorship materials Develop stewardship materials that highlight the impact of donor contributions Collaborate with leadership and program staff to ensure accurate and compelling messaging in donor communications Support multi-year grant planning, ensuring strong renewal strategies and long-term sustainability. WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Bachelor's degree 2+ years of experience in grant writing, development communications, or nonprofit fundraising Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into persuasive funding requests Strong research and project management abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software (preferred) Familiarity with conservative legal, policy, or nonprofit fundraising
