Position Summary

As part of the Electric Compliance Performance and Excellence, the Compliance and Risk Consultant conducts research, data analysis, data entry, and reporting in support of data response strategy and Electric Compliance business decision making. They may be responsible for maintaining process documentation and performing other functions of the Support Desk, such as participating in business process improvement activities, technology administration, and performing data quality checks.

Job Responsibilities

Works as part of a team or under limited supervision to ensure Electric Compliance data requests are complete, accurate, consistent and verifiable in accordance with SD process.

Performs data request intake, logging and assignment. A critical first step in our process; enter new requests into the Compliance tracker consistently and accurately and ensure they are assigned in a timely fashion.

Actively manages and updates databases containing relevant data response information.

Executes Support Desk functions: maintains database quality checks, tracks due dates and status, produces final responses

Identifies process gaps or data quality issues and recommends solutions.

Executes quality and timely prior data response research; has a growth mindset and seeks feedback on quality of work to improve results over time.

Independently and collaboratively works to improve search capabilities.

Communicates with peers inside and outside the department exchanging ideas or gathering information.

Understands business needs, develops new reports and performs custom/ad-hoc reporting working independently. Presents findings to various audiences.

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline or equivalent work experience required.

2 years of related work experience as a Data Analyst

Comfortable with speaking up and communicating data quality issues or process gaps to stakeholders

Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (oral and written) with a wide range of stakeholders

Ability to problem solve and implement solutions

Ability to consistently follow processes and make process improvements

Experience with Records Management, Versioning, SharePoint Online

LAPTOP WILL BE ISSUED. A DOCKING STATION AND MONITOR PROVIDED IF NEEDED. PERSONAL CELL PHONE FOR CALLS/MEETING. WITH MANAGER PRIOR APPROVAL A PRE-DETERMINED AMOUNT FOR CELL AND INTERNET CAN BE EXPENSED MONTHLY.

The Compliance & Risk Consultant supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the framework for compliance and/or risk management. May be assigned to support a specific department or area of the business.

Scope may be limited to one regulatory agency or may include multiple agencies, laws, and regulations applicable to a specific department or area of the business. Supports revisions to the compliance and/or risk programs and tools as needed based on changes to applicable laws, regulations, and standards. For risk management, develops and maintains a risk register, coordinating with various risk owners to track operational & enterprise risks and the effectiveness of risk mitigation activities.

Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Requirement/Risk Owners, and business SMEs to develop controls, and metrics to hold the assigned owners accountable for compliance and/or risk management performance.

Supports change management, training, and communication of compliance standards, processes & results and/or risk management standards and risk analyses & assessments. The Compliance & Risk Consultant may also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and respond to data/reporting inquiries.

Potential Responsibilities:

Support the establishment and maintenance of Compliance Management standards, procedures, and reporting

Develop and drive action plans to achieve and maintain Compliance Program Maturity

Lead or support the inventory and maintenance of regulatory requirements, including confirmation of compliance owners, and mapping to guidance documents, controls, and risk rankings

Perform compliance gap assessments and provide guidance to Requirement/Risk Owners for mitigation plans

Provides expertise to leadership and cross-functional teams regarding development, implementation, and monitoring of controls and mitigation plans.

Support the development and implementation of Electric’s Compliance Controls Program

Lead or support the development and implementation of Shared Compliance Program

Maintain or support the Electric Compliance Management Communications & Training Plan

Develop and provide compliance related best practice training and training materials

Drive process improvements learned from benchmarking and peer-to-peer reviews

Conduct quality reviews on programmatic compliance activities

May act as team lead but does not have any direct reports.

Prefer:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

7+ years of relevant experience
