POSITION OVERVIEW

The National Park Foundation's Annual Giving team includes two distinct programs: the annual fund ($1-$999) and the mid-level giving (Champions Society) programs ($1k -$25K). This role serves on the mid-level giving team, supporting the growth of the Champions Society.

The Champions Society Manager (CSM) administers and collaborates on all aspects of mid-level giving in partnership with the Director, Sr. Manager, and Discovery Officer. This includes face-to-face and phone solicitation and engagement, direct mail and online fundraising, donor database maintenance and appeal segmentation, and donor acknowledgments and stewardship efforts.

This position will play a critical role in planning and implementing a comprehensive Champions Society giving program to broaden the number of donors, upgrade the average size of gifts, and increase donor retention.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, & TASKS

Successfully engage with current and prospective mid-level donors in a way that feels meaningful to them. Proactively reach out to current and prospective mid-level donors to deepen their connection and support for the national parks and the National Park Foundation. Manage relationships with external vendors and internal departments to meet mid-level giving project deadlines and goals. Analyze the effectiveness of various fundraising methods and messages after a project or campaign concludes and then use that knowledge to adapt future efforts accordingly. Manage the expense budget for the mid-level program. Monitor the monthly progress of annual fund results compared to financial goals. Manage donor acknowledgments, stewardship, and engagements. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCIES

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Three to five years of an annual fund or related experience; prior experience with a university and/or non-profit donor retention program preferred; prior experience with Raiser's Edge NXT a plus. Proven ability to work well in a hybrid environment with multiple stakeholders, can prioritize and manage multiple projects, and meet associated deadlines; ability to innovate and evolve in a rapidly growing and maturing organization. Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise critical thinking in problem-solving and/or operational recommendations. Excellent communication and organizational skills combined with attention to detail and ability to accurately prepare and proof written materials, correspondence, financial reports, etc. Strong computer and database skills (MS Office Suite, Raiser's Edge NXT, or comparable database). Ability to take direction from multiple parties and to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently, collaborate with others as needed, make sound decisions, and always exercise good judgment and professionalism. Passion for national parks or knowledge of or experience with the National Park Service is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with campaigns, donor stewardship, constituent relationship management systems, and philanthropy operations. Willingness and ability to learn donor software and utilize the system for moves management, report preparation, and other data needs. Desire to be an integral leader of a high-functioning development team. A passion for national parks is required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Location/Work Schedule:

Applicants residing in the DC Metro Area (DC, MD, VA) are eligible for a hybrid work schedule. A remote work schedule may be considered for this position in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, IL, MA, MN, NC, NH, NM, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, WA, WI

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience.
