Behavioral Health Collector
to join our revenue cycle team and help ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for our services.
Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Collector is responsible for managing accounts receivable for behavioral health claims, including follow-up with insurance payers and patients. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the financial health of our clients by working to resolve billing issues, processing denials, and facilitating collections in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor and manage outstanding behavioral health claims. Follow up with insurance companies to ensure timely payment. Investigate and resolve claim denials or payment discrepancies. Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities in the billing system. Collaborate with other departments gather necessary documentation and support for claims. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations. Meet or exceed individual and team collection performance goals. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health medical billing or collections. Strong knowledge of insurance processes, EOBs, and denial management. Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding and behavioral health billing practices. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficient with billing software and Google Suite. Proficient with CollabMD software Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Benefits:
