Position Summary
This role is more than just a
WOK COOK . It is the opportunity to act as a brand ambassador to bridge cultures through food. Take our patrons on a culinary adventure through education, quality customer service, and a positive experience at our restaurant. We are counting on you to be an extension of our brand.
The
WOK COOK
requires expertise in high-heat wok cooking, a deep understanding of Burmese/Southeast Asian flavors and the ability to prepare traditional dishes with precision and speed.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Burmese and Southeast Asian wok-based meals Use traditional wok techniques to create bold flavors while maintaining high-quality cooking standards Maintain proper cooking temperatures and wok heat control for consistency in every dish Work quickly and efficiently to prepare multiple orders while ensuring food presentation and portion accuracy Set up and stock the wok station with fresh ingredients, sauces and necessary kitchen tools Ensure all food is cooked in compliance with health and safety regulations Assist in preparing ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, marinating meats and making sauces Monitor food inventory and communicate with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth workflow Maintain a clean, organized and safe workstation throughout the shift Collaborate with chefs, and other kitchen staff to uphold the restaurants
Qualifications
Wok cook experience is a must (2+ years' experience preferred) Strong knowledge of Burmese and Southeast Asian cuisine, including ingredients, spices and cooking techniques Expertise in high-heat wok cooking, stir-frying, and proper handling of traditional Burmese/Southeast Asian cooking equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen while maintaining attention to detail Strong knife skills and ability to prep ingredients efficiently Ability to acquire a Food Handlers license and Sexual Harassment certification (before or within 2 weeks of hiring) Bilingual is a plus
