Comptroller

The Comptroller at Holyoke Community College serves as the chief accounting officer and financial steward, responsible for overseeing the institutions financial health, compliance, and fiscal management. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. The Comptroller plays a key role in financial planning and strategic budgeting, providing transparent and efficient management of resources to support the colleges mission and educational objectives. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring financial integrity and supporting the fiscal sustainability of Holyoke Community College. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a commitment to the colleges educational mission. Core competencies include integrity and a commitment to ethical financial management, attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis, ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, and strategic thinking and ability to contribute to long-term financial planning. Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required. At least 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, demonstrable knowledge of State and Federal rules and regulations applicable to institutions of higher education; in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting standards board (GASB) pronouncements; demonstrated high-level proficiency in integrated financial management systems and complementary database management reporting applications like (Questica/Banner/Ellucian/Chrome River/Softdocs/MMARS and Microsoft Office suite of applications. Full-time, non-unit professional position salary range: $125,981.24 - $136,365.00/year; plus a comprehensive State benefits package. Hours: 37.5 hrs./week. Funding source: State.
