Matthews International is seeking an OTR Driver to join our Logistics Team in Aurora, Indiana for our memorialization business segment. The ideal candidate will have over the road commercial driving experience. The OTR Truck Driver will be responsible for the delivery of caskets to our customers, Distribution Hubs, and vendors regionally as well as over long distances in various states. Most of the driving will be to our Distribution HUBs in Dallas, Plainfield, IN, Atlanta and Harrisburg, PA. The Driver will be driving a Manual Transmission Truck so must be comfortable with operating manual transmission. Competitive Starting Rate of $20.20 hourly with a .60c mile pay. Job Responsibilities
Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition. Keeps driver log maintained according to ICC regulations. May assist workers in loading and unloading truck. May work as member of two-person team driving tractor with sleeper bunk behind cab. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements
Previous driving experience of a Class A vehicle. Commercial Driver's License, CDL A license. Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one. Experience operating CDL A vehicle with manual transmission. Completion of a training course at an accredited truck driving school will be considered. Physical Aspects / Work Environment
Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures while working outside. Often exposed to contaminants, such as diesel fuel or exhaust. Occasionally exposed to whole body vibration when driving a truck. Sometimes exposed to sounds or noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.
