Sterling Engineering is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for a 1st shift opportunity with a leading manufacturer. This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, ideal for someone experienced in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial packaging and facilities equipment.
Job Duties :
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment issues involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Rebuild and replace components such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, clutches, and electrical units.
Interpret and work from schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, prints, sketches, and maintenance procedures.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility support equipment.
Work individually or within a team environment to resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
Maintain high standards for safety and equipment performance.
Qualifications :
3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
Solid knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
Basic understanding of electrical systems including AC (480–120v) and DC (low-voltage controls).
Effective troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
Must supply own set of basic mechanic’s hand tools.
Comfortable lifting up to 55 lbs and standing/walking for 80–90% of shift.
Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments.
