We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status. Performs diagnostic exams on patients in the specialized areas of mammography, computed tomography, and special procedures. Uses specialized equipment, techniques and/or computer programs to perform the work. Job Requirement Education/Experience: Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:

State of Nevada License in Radiology. Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) Registered in Radiography; National Certification in specialty area such as Computed Tomography or Angiography. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA). Additional Position Requirements Preferences will be given to applicants who document the following: 1) Valid State of Nevada License in Radiology; 2) Valid American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) Registered in Computed Tomography; 3) Previous 3 (three) years experience in performing CT exams in a Trauma setting and; 4) CT interventional exams on patients;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Knowledge of: Procedures and protocols associated with area of assignment; specialized equipment used in area of assignment; radiography protocols and procedures; quality assurance and quality control measures; personal computers; anatomy and physiology of the human body; contrast application and contrast reaction symptoms; venipuncture techniques; department and hospital safety practices and principles; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Skill in: Utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation; applying aseptic techniques; positioning patients properly to maximize results; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time, vision to read printed materials and VDT screens, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
